Michelle Bazin, Registered Psychologist

Certified EMDR Therapist | Gottman Level 3 Couples Therapist

Michelle works with individuals and couples navigating trauma, emotional intensity, and recurring patterns. She helps clients understand these patterns and develop practical ways to increase stability, connection, and choice.

Michelle is a straight-talking, engaged therapist who keeps sessions real. Expect humor, clarity, and a focus on getting to the heart of what’s going on. The work is collaborative and goal-oriented, with an emphasis on meaningful change rather than endless talking.

Michelle earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Mount Royal University and a Master of Arts in Counselling from Yorkville University. She is a Certified EMDR Therapist, trained in Flash Technique and Ego State Therapy, and a Gottman Method Level 3 Trained Couples Therapist, including Trauma, Affairs, and Couples Addiction Recovery.

EMDR, Flash Technique, Ego State Therapy, and an IFS-informed lens are integrated in individual therapy, helping clients work with protective patterns rather than against them. In couples therapy, she uses the Gottman Method, supporting partners to interrupt reactive cycles, improve communication, and rebuild trust. Her work is grounded, collaborative, and human, providing a safe space where clients can explore patterns, process experiences, and make meaningful change.

She specializes in trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, grief, self-esteem, life transitions, relationship conflict, and affairs/addiction recovery.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys ball hockey, board game cafés, and spending time outdoors, balancing her life with play, curiosity, and connection.

Carmen Sheriff, Clinic Manager

Carmen is the Clinic Manager at Calgary Psychology and EMDR, and she ensures the smooth operation of Calgary Psychology and EMDR Inc., managing scheduling, client support, billing, and clinic administration. She keeps the clinic running efficiently so that Michelle can focus on providing excellent psychological care. Her approachable nature and attention to detail make her an invaluable part of the team.

With a Diploma in Legal Assistant from SAIT, over seven years of experience as a paralegal, and three years raising two energetic boys, Carmen brings a rare combination of professionalism, organization, and empathy to her role. She understands that life can be unpredictable, especially for families, and works closely with clients to plan sessions that fit their real-world schedules.

Carmen’s dedication goes beyond administrative excellence—she creates an environment where clients feel seen, heard, and cared for from the moment they connect with the clinic. She balances efficiency with compassion, making every interaction positive and reassuring.

When she’s not supporting the clinic and its clients, Carmen enjoys video games, playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends, and exploring new parks with her family. Her energy, warmth, and good humor make her not just a manager, but someone who truly enriches the experience of everyone who comes through our doors.
